Frank Schijns MSc
Founder | Structural Engineer
With nearly twelve years of experience in structural engineering, Frank has worked for both a multidisciplinary engineering company and a specialist engineering company focused on precast concrete structures. Throughout his career, he has gained broad experience in technical, organisational and leadership roles within structural engineering. Building on this experience, he now runs his own structural engineering practice, Frank Schijns Structural Engineering & Design.
Competencies
Structural Engineering
Extensive experience in the structural design, engineering and analysis of building structures, including responsibility as Lead Structural Engineer on a wide range of projects.
Software & Development
Experience in developing and managing engineering knowledge, programming and automating calculation and drafting software, and transferring technical knowledge to others.
2D/3D Modelling
Extensive experience in 2D drafting and 3D BIM modelling of building structures, including experience as Head of the Drawing Department.
Structural Knowledge
Broad knowledge and experience across a wide range of construction materials and building types, from private residences to complex commercial and public buildings, including theatres.
Project Management
Strong experience in organisational processes, project planning, accurate cost estimation and clear communication with clients, contractors and precast concrete manufacturers, complemented by experience as a Project Leader.
Business & Digital Skills
Experience in business administration, organisational processes and entrepreneurship, combined with a strong background in multimedia design and web development.
Education
Frank graduated from Eindhoven University of Technology, where he developed a strong analytical mindset and passion for structural design. This academic foundation, combined with years of practical experience , forms the basis for his approach to engineering.
