Project overview
The project comprises a private villa in Northern Thailand featuring a distinctive structural combination of reinforced concrete and prefabricated hardwood construction.
The upper floor consists of a prefabricated hardwood structure manufactured in two separate sections. On site, both sections were positioned on precast concrete columns and subsequently connected to form the complete upper structure.
The loads from the timber superstructure are transferred through the precast concrete columns to an in-situ cast reinforced concrete strip foundation, creating a clear structural load path from the timber construction to the foundations.
